I spent the weekend in sunny Palo Alto setting up for Music with Toby’s Halloween Studio Class! I decorated greenery with artificial cobwebs and even made a pipecleaner spider that hung in the windows – everything was ready for my wife, Toby’s students & families to arrive. We made spirit awards – small fancy chocolates & caramels – for the adults who came in costume. Nearly all adults had costumes – 70+ people were in attendance!
Each student gave a performance to showcase their level on the violin or in voice. Some sang, “Whistle a Happy Tune” from the King and I and others, “Seasons of Love” from RENT. It was very sweet to see how much practicing had been going on behind the scenes to get to their big performance – newer students played open strings on their miniature violins, and others played full pieces from Book 1. All in all, a great success!
After the performances concluded, everyone grabbed an instrument and went on a music parade around the block! For more information on how you can sign up to be a part of the magic, please visit Music with Toby. Toby offers lessons for violin & voice in San Francisco and Palo Alto. Hope everyone had a safe & spooktacular Halloween!
